Acting

JL290478e.jpg

I started doing acting at a very young age. Often as butterflies or bees in some ensemble. As I've gotten older I've found the true beauty in being able to express one's ideas, creativity, and personal experience through the lens of another character. Taking the realities of their situation, standing on stage, and being as truthful as possible. Booker T has taught me that there is nothing more important than showing the truth. I hope to carry this sentiment with me throughout my life.

                         Big Love

Big Love, written by Charles Mee and adapted by Booker T Students, is my most recent show. It was the biggest show I have ever been a part of. This show forced me out of my comfort zone in so many ways and I believe I am a better actor and person because of it. The Italian accent will stick with me forever.

Slick, Slimy, Grimy and Dead - Paul Baker

Slick, Slimy, Grimy, and Dead is a play about the social hierarchy of eels, written by student Audrey Hunter. The play was part of the school's Paul Baker New Plays festival. No show has ever taught me more about eel nomenclature.

The War On Tatem - One Act

The War on Tatem, written by Mark Medoff, was a one-act I was in my Junior year. This show allowed everyone involved to tap into their inner child to truly understand what the Tatem Perch was going through. I will forever love this show.

This is a Play about Apples - 10 Minute

This is a Play about Apples was written by a student Imani Jones, and directed by another student. This was my junior year, and throughout the process, everyone learned so much about themselves as artists through working only with their peers.

       A Wedding Story - 10 Minute

A wedding story by Julianne Homokay, was a 10-minute I was in my freshman year. It was my first production at Booker T, we had to work around covid regulations, but it was such a fun experience.
